This is to say that TO BE TWENTY (AVERE VENT’ANNI; 1978) begins as a seemingly routine sexploitation potboiler that gradually reveals itself to have definite political concerns (with the major hot button issues of the day, communism and feminism in particular, picked over quite blatantly), only to end up in LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT territory.
